Hey.  I am hoping this is the appropriate spot to post.  I am looking for the possibility to join a crew during this year's rally.  I have little sailing experience but am super easy going, hard working, etc...  I am a 36 year old teacher with a year off and thought this would be a great opportunity.  A colleague who has sailed with his family down through Mexico put me in touch with this idea and site.  I have sailed with him in this area (Desolation Sound - Lund, Powell River, Canada) and am planning some trips to help with another friend who runs SALT trips with his schooner.  I am very fit (Member of Canada's running/triathlon teams) and eager to try new adventures.  I am comfortable in water settings as I have grown up on the coast.  I have my advanced diving certificate, first aid and am versed in all manners of scrub brushes.  I can find comfort in all settings and with all characters.

I can be reached at gcocksedge@sd47.bc.ca anytime for further information.

Thanks for any consideration, Graham Cocksedge... yes, that is my real last name.

Where will the 2010 Baja Haha boats actually enter Mexico?  Cabo San Lucas?  or is Turtle Bay a Port of Entry?

Good Day,

My name is Captain Jeffry Matzdorff and together with Captain Mike Pleasant, we are in the business of delivering sail and power boats, anywhere in the world.  We both own 100 Ton Master's Capatain's licenses and have collectively sailed/delivered boats over 160,000 blue water miles. Together we have delivered boats to New Zealand from Los Angeles, Grenada (via Panama Canal) to Los Angeles, LA to Hawaii, Hawaii to LA, Tahiti to Los Angeles, LA to Anacortes, Miami to Annapolis, Miami to Portugal, and both Mike and I are especially well seasoned sailors in both north and south directions of Baja California. Having raced and cruised up and down Baja since the first time in 1971, years we consider Mexico our own backyard.

Being boat owners ourselves we understand the care and special attention required on a delivery.  If you are looking for delivery options or if you have questions about anything, we would both be very happy to give you any information or assistance you require!

Please feel free to contact either of us at:

I FIRST WANT TO SAY, I APOLOGIZE FOR NOT POSTING THIS EARLIER.  IF ANYONE WENT ON THE 2003-2004 HA HA YOU MAY REMEMBER MY PARENTS SKIP AND MIMI FELMAR - L'ESPERANCE - BENETEAU 393.

MY FATHER PASSED AWAY LAST YEAR ON JUNE 23RD.  HE HAD BEEN SAILING SINCE HE WAS 9 YEARS OLD, AND HAS SAILED ALL OVER THE WORLD, BUT LOVED THOSE 2 TRIPS WITH ALL OF YOU THE BEST, SO MUCH THAT HE WAS PLANNING TO MAKE ONE LAST TRIP IN 2009, BUT UNFORTNATLY HE DIDN'T MAKE IT.

THANK YOU ALL WHO GAVE MY DAD THE HAPPIEST TIME OF HIS LIFE !!!!!!

LESLIE M. TUROWSKI (FELMAR)

I have some great photos from the Ha-Ha of a couple of boats and I am sure some have pictures of us.  Can we do something so we can send them around the fleet?

We did the Ha-ha in 2004 and 2006.  Both times we headed directly to Puerto Vallarta after the Ha Ha and we are glad we did.  The folks who headed to the Sea got slammed by screaming Northers and were very cold.  Some were stuck, unable to leave La Paz for weeks.

The Sea really isn't as much fun between mid-November and early April.  We cruise the Sea from April through June - then head back to Puerto Vallarta (our home base is Paradise Village Marina) to park for the summer.

In our Opinion, this is the safest area to be in hurricane season if you are staying down here.

Have fun and see you in Mexico!
